Meadowsweet is the sacred herb of the druids, used historically in mead and was administered to neutralise the acid in the belly. In the late 1800’s salicylic acid was isolated from the plant to help produce aspirin.
The tea infusion is often taken for its anti-inflammatory properties and ease on the stomach.
