Product description
The Drumstick tree is originally native to the foothills of the Himalayas but today is widely grown around the world. It may indeed be one of the most useful trees in the tropics and has been hailed as a miracle tree. The leaves, seed and flowers are edible and even the grated roots are prepared into a condiment with a taste not unlike horseradish. The leaves have a protein content of up to 10%. In cultivation it does well in warm temperate and tropical climates in USDA plant hardiness Zones 9 to 11. It is quick growing and starts flowering in just a little over a year from seed. It is very adaptable but needs unimpeded drainage and prefers drier areas.
Not for Human Consumption, Botanical use only.
