Wild Dagga is an evergreen shrub growing to 2 meters tall, a member of the mint family and native to South Africa. It has dark green aromatic leaves, which give a very pleasant smell when crushed and a profusion of tubular, bright orange flowers. It is drought tolerant and adapts well to warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 8 to 11 and, with good mulching, can withstand moderate freezes. Leonotis leonurus has a variety of applications in traditional medicine.
